Byron Youth Services Care Packages
In Partnership with Byron Youth Services.
Since 2019 we have been supporting The Byron Youth Services with their endeavours. Over the years we have helped with care packages, youth projects, and the setup of their Youth Cottage.
The Cottage Restoration Project
Byron Youth Service (BYS) has been successful in investing significant time, effort, and funds in maintaining and restoring The War Widows Cottage (The Cottage) in Mullumbimby for use as a safe space for young people in the community. After recent renovations, BYS is now seeking support to put the final touches on The Cottage in collaboration with the young people.
Supporting Youth Traditions
A tradition of young people creating art on the walls of The Cottage Lounge Room to memorialise their participation in Cottage activities (including murals, poems, and recording the names of young people who have participated in programs) has been going on for years. BYS believes it is important to protect this beautiful homage to young people, many of whom are now adults. The ‘graffiti’ on the lounge room walls needs to be maintained and protected so that future generations can reflect and also make their own contributions to history.
